Title: Lead Carpenter
Location: Ithaca, NY Area
Job Description: We are a customer oriented building and remodeling company looking for a highly skilled lead carpenter to join our growing business. We do many types of jobs: kitchen/bath remodeling, additions, decks/porches, window/door installation, custom cabinetry, architectural/structural changes, energy efficient window and door replacement and energy efficient retrofits.
New hire would be responsible for organizing and implementing work on a daily basis for the on site crew, and responsible for the management of any subcontractors, materials, tools and labor and would be the primary link between the clients and the company.
Qualifications and Skills:
10 years field experience with some experience as a lead carpenter.
Must be able to interpret and build from architectural plans
Wood Framing: including stairs and roofs.
Exterior finish: Window and door installation, house wrap, window flashing, waterproofing, siding, trim, soffit, fascia, painting
Interior finish: drywall hanging and finishing, painting, interior trim (paint and stain grade), wood flooring, tile floors and showers, built ins, cabinet installation.
Interior trim: Door hanging, crown molding, cabinet installation, casings, base board and general woodworking skills
Experience constructing energy wall systems a plus
Must be able to keep a clean and well organized jobsite.
Must be able to efficiently achieve the highest level of finish. The skill to deliver a sharp drywall, painting and trim finish required.
Candidate should have tools, valid driver's license and reliable transportation and be able to haul materials when necessary.
Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
Must be able to communicate via email and text and be able to fill out timesheets electronically.
Candidate must be clean in appearance and in good health.
